'Jindibah'

An Intentional Community
near Byron Bay, NSW
Australia's most easterly point

'For compatible people consciously embracing
a sustainable vision for our community'

Introduction

Jindibah Intentional Community is located on a 113 acre property on the Hinterland overlooking Byron Bay, NSW; Australia's most easterly point, which is renowned internationally for its beaches and surfing.

The intent of this community is to achieve a 'triple bottom line' balance between social, environmental and economic development. These principles are used to help create a natural environment for peaceful living and home businesses based in a country setting.

The Jindibah property is located just 12 minutes from the beaches and close to the amenities of the five villages in this shire that include schools, hospitals and supermarkets as well as the many restaurants and cafes and tourist facilities.

Jindibah infrastructure is now complete.  Sealed roads use the bridge over the creek to reach houses/sites, which all have access to electricity and phone.

Revenues from the home farm and other property sources help fund the on-going cost of maintaining the property, progressively regenerating rainforest, and improving the soil along ESD principles.

Jindibah has created a non-profit community shared wireless broadband network ('JindiNet'), providing fast internet and VoIP access (such as Skype) for Jindibah members and neighbours living in the surrounding catchment area.
